Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Preparation Courses (University of London) are designed for students intending to take the University of London LLB examinations. Upon successful completion, students will obtain an LLB degree awarded by the University of London and a separate Statement of Attendance issued by HKU SPACE.

Tuition

• The valuable LLB tuition package consists of 36 hours of Main Lectures, 14 hours of Revision Lectures, and Mock Examinations with Individual Feedback (where provided).
• Additional support includes 6 hours of Exam Skills Seminars, voluntary take-home assignments, and an Exam Analytics Workshop.
• Three free lectures are offered for Foundation in Legal Studies to all new students who have enrolled on the HKU SPACE Preparation Courses for Level 4 Modules.

Articulation Pathways

Career Path

• Hong Kong: Completion of the University of London LLB fulfills most of the Hong Kong PCLL admission Core Subjects requirement.
• England and Wales: The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is open to degree holders in any subject intending to be qualified as solicitors.
• Admission in other jurisdictions: Many HKU SPACE alumni have succeeded in getting admitted to practice in Canada, California, and New York, etc.

Entry Requirements

• Standard Entry: University's minimum entrance requirements, including 5 HKDSE Category A subjects at Level 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 (including English Language) + 2, 2, 2, or equivalent.
• Graduate Entry: A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• CertHE Entry: Students who don't meet the Standard Entry Requirements can join the Certificate of Higher Education in Common Law (CertHE), which equals the LLB Standard Entry Year 1.
